Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England, The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the United States. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture.
The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally and enjoys strong sales in the United States, Europe and Japan. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Frye's." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Great shoes! Leopard print is attractive and is a whimsical touch to any outfit; especially good w/ pants. Top back of shoe digs in a little; I could not wear this shoe with nylons or barefoot or thin tights. It needs a thick sock so that it's comfortable; when I wore thin socks my upper heel was uncomfortable where the top back of the shoe curves in. With a thicker sock, shoe fits great and is very comfy. Arch support is very good, and I can stand and walk in the shoes all day. Great buy for the cost, and these are a good sturdy shoe that looks good and draws compliments from many people.

Great shoes!!
These boots were my first pair. So far I am loving every step with it. So comfortable and warm in the winter. I will definitely recommend it. I usually wear 6.5 but I order half size down, which was a good decision :). Zappos great shipping and handling amazes me every time I buy shoes. Definitely shop again with Zappos and Ugg Boots!

I am a huge fan of Frye shoes/boots, the material and quality is second to none. I applied one coat of mink oil as soon as I got the boots, they get a "richer" look every time I wear them.

Cute Boot -
This is great looking boot. However, it runs a bit narrow, not for wide feet. The boot was hard to pull on the first 5-6 times until the leather stretched out a little. A side-zip would have been beneficial.

These boots look great with everything - especially skirts and dresses. They are pretty comfortable...a little snug in the insole perhaps (depending on the thickness of the sock), and a little stiff initially, but I anticipate that they will only get softer and more comfortable with time. I get compliments on them all the time.

These boots rock!
These are pricey, but worth it. Some people have asked me if they are plastic, because there is definitely a "shine" to the material, but you can just tell them that it is leather and Frye boots thank you very much. As always, Zappos delivery exceeds expectations.

Love these boots!!! They are gorgeous!! These are the boots that I wanted for so long, but it was hard to spend the money. I had Fryes in the 70's and 80's and always wanted another, more updated, pair. I decided to go for it, and it was such a good decision! Worth every penny. I have not taken them off since I got them! They are so comfortable. I mink oiled them and they are breaking in so well. I've even worn them barefoot. Look great with everything too. Added bonus...Zappos upgraded me to overnight shipping and I had them in 19 hours!!!

Most comfortable boots since Dr. Martens!
This boot is one of the best and of finest quality I've ever purchased (and I know my boots)! Instantly comfortable. My calf is larger than average and the boot still fits comfortably (though I don't think it could zip around more than a 16" calf). The only thing I wish this boot had is a taller height: It hits right in the middle of the calf - and I wish it were 3" or more taller. Regardless, I look forward to wearing this boot all winter!

The best boot ever -
I must say, this is the second pair of shoes I bought from Zaps and it's the best service. About the shoes. The boots are true to size I ordered a size 9 and they fit perfect. The quality of the leather is great. I have purchased Prada shoes and paid a whole lot more and the quality of this leather is wonderful and softens up within a few times of wearing them. Favorite boot!
This is my 4th pair of Frye boots and I love them. I have the Campus boots in banana and dark brown. They usually only take one wear to break in and then just keep getting better and better. They look good with skirts or over and under jeans. Feels true to size. Sometimes I need to start with a thin sock till it breaks in and then I can wear anything with them.

Just what I expected -
I ordered half a size down (as suggested), and the fit was perfect. I already own the low brown Harness boot and have enjoyed them for almost 5 years now. They are still in tact and as comfortable as ever! These are even easier to wear, because they slide on. I am sure I will enjoy them for many years to come.

This boot is worth the money spent. I bought the dark brown and since I have received them, I wear them 90% of the time. They go with almost anything and are so well made. They will definitely last a lifetime. I want to get the black ones as well, then I can wear this boot 100% of the time.

I'm in love with my boots.
There boots are good lookin', comfortable, and they go with everything. The top of the boot is wide enough to shove any pant leg into. I always wear an 8.5. They fit great, but might be a tad on the big side. I have walked 3-4 miles in them and don't have any problems.

Love these boots!
These boots are great. You can feel right away that the quality makes them worth the money. They're a bit stiff when you get them, so they take some breaking in. Also, I am usually a fairly wide size 11, but I had to exchange for a size 10, which fits great.

Great looking boot, but small toe box -
These boots are really great looking and well made, but the fit is problematical. The leather is very hard and the toe box unusually narrow. I am always a standard B width and these definitely run narrow. I have had them stretched, but they are going to take a while to break in. Also be prepared for heel slippage. Although the toe is narrow, the heel is wide. Also wish the sole/heel were wood instead of rubber.

Classic Style - Great Boot - Poor Sizing -
Frye Campus 14L is a classic boot and I would recommend it to anyone, but even if you order from Zappos.com, go try it on in a shoe store first... please. My only complaint is that the size ran large. I am between an 8-8.5 and the first shoes I ordered were an 8. The shoe itself was much longer than all my other shoes. The width felt comfortable, but a little loose. I ordered a 7.5 from Zappos and was planning to exchange it with the 8, but after it arrived, I felt the width, calves, and heel were too tight. However, the length was great. After much deliberation, I decided to stay with the 8. They are definitely a half size larger, but with heavy socks, they seem ok. Zappos.com has an excellent return policy and let me exchange them back and forth with no problem.

Beautiful boot -
I was looking for a moderate heeled, pull on boot to wear with everything...pants, skirts, dresses. This boot is perfect - not too casual and not too dressy. The brown is a beautiful sort of distressed brown black so it really goes with everything. Incredible Frye quality...I love them.
